England bowler Stuart Broad has admitted that it was "great" to dismiss Australia captain Michael Clarke for one on the opening day of the first Ashes Test in Brisbane.
The 27-year-old, who was subjected to boos from the Aussie crowd for his refusal to walk during the Ashes series in the summer, nabbed a crucial wicket when Clarke was caught at short-leg.
"Clarke's obviously their star man and averages over 50 so it's great," BBC Sport quotes Broad as saying. "To have a plan and execute it as a bowler is excellent and so quickly in the first innings of the first Test is brilliant.
"The first bouncer is always the most dangerous and the reaction of the players showed how much it meant. I wouldn't say I have a hold over him, his record is phenomenal, the key was getting him in early enough with a hard enough ball to make that plan work."
Broad finished the day on figures of 5-65 as Australia closed on 273-8.
