Ian Bell hoping to rediscover form before Ashes

England batsman Ian Bell admits that he is working to rediscover his form after struggling to score runs in the Test series against New Zealand.

Ian Bell has said that he is hoping to rediscover his form with county side Warwickshire to ensure that he can make a contribution for England this summer.

The batsman made just 43 runs in four innings in the recent two-Test series with New Zealand, having also recorded a pair during the series in the West Indies earlier in May.

The 33-year-old, who hit 90 off 65 balls in a T20 match for Birmingham Bears this weekend, told Sky Sports News: "It's a good start. It's been a frustrating last sort of month, having started with a big hundred in the West Indies. And then for some reason, I haven't quite experienced that in my 11 years with England, it's changed quite quickly.

"I've just got to keep working hard now. It's a good reminder that you've got to keep working hard all the time. I'm desperate now, away from England, to work hard to make sure I can help England have a good summer.

"I'm looking forward to [working with new England coach Trevor Bayliss]. What people say about him is just full of compliments. So I expect some really good things from him. I'm looking forward to getting to know him and working with him."

England's next Test will be the first Ashes match against Australia at the SWALEC Stadium in Cardiff on July 8.
