Trevor Bayliss upbeat over England future following Ashes triumph

England coach Trevor Bayliss is confident over the future of his side following their triumph over Australia in the Ashes, despite their lack of experience.

England coach Trevor Bayliss has declared that he is upbeat over the future of his side following their triumph in the Ashes over Australia.

The Three Lions lost the final Test of the series by an innings and 46 runs at The Oval, but Bayliss has admitted that he is delighted with the way his inexperienced team performed throughout the summer, and is hopeful that they can kick on from their success.

He told Sky Sports News: "I know the Australian team will be very disappointed with the way they've played in three of the matches but we're disappointed with the way we played in two.

"It's a bit of a gentle reminder that the job's not done. Going forward for this group of young players, if you have a look at the team, especially from a batting point of view, it's very young and inexperienced.

"Over the next few years just imagine some of these talented young players with 40, 50 Tests under their belt."

England face Pakistan in the United Arab Emirates in their next Test series.
