The Delhi Daredevils lost for an 11th consecutive time in the Indian Premier League at the hands of the Rajasthan Royals, who won by three wickets at the Feroz Shah Kotla this afternoon.
It was the Daredevils that batted first and they were provided with a good platform by openers Mayank Agarwal and Shreyas Iyer, who made 37 and 40 respectively before they lost their wickets.
That brought captain JP Duminy to the crease and the South African remained unbeaten on 44 from 38 deliveries when they reached the 20-over mark on 184-3.
Angelo Mathews was alongside him on 27, having replaced Yuvraj Singh following his contribution of the same number of runs.
Despite the big victory target, the Royals, who lost wickets at regular intervals, took the game into a final over.
Needing 12 runs from six balls, a four from Chris Morris meant that the Royals needed three runs for victory off the final ball. They managed that thanks to Tim Southee, who drove the ball to the boundary for four, sealing victory in the process.
