Australia whitewash West Indies in ODI series

Australia complete a 5-0 ODI series whitewash by beating the West Indies by 17 runs in Melbourne.

Australia won the fifth and final one-day international against West Indies by 17 runs to complete a 5-0 series victory in Melbourne.

Adam Voges starred in the hosts' innings, smashing an unbeaten 112 off 106 balls as Australia set a winning target of 275 runs.

West Indies' response got off to a bad start when Kieran Powell was dismissed for just two runs off the bowling of Mitchell Johnson.

However, Darren Bravo (33) and Johnson Charles (100) steadied the ship. Charles was out just after reaching his century and no other batsman could get above 50 as the tourists were bowled out for 257 with just one ball of the innings remaining.

Next up is a solitary Twenty20 match between the two sides at the Gabba on Wednesday.
