David Warner hits century in Brisbane

David Warner brings up his fourth Test century and first against England as Australia continue to build an unassailable lead in Brisbane.

David Warner has become the first centurion of the current Ashes series as Australia continue to get on top of England in the first Test in Brisbane.

The 27-year-old left-hander hit 11 fours in reaching triple figures from 135 balls, helping the hosts to 182-2 in their second innings.

It is his fourth Test century, and first against England.

Warner's 107-run partnership with Michael Clarke (52) has built a lead of 341, putting Australia in a dominant position on day three of the Test match.

The skipper had brought up his 28th half-century with an easy single to long-on two overs previously.
