Nicola Adams: 'Retaining gold is such an amazing feeling'

Great Britain's Nicola Adams reveals her delight after beating France's Sarah Ourahmoune in order to win boxing gold and retain her Olympic flyweight title in Rio.

British boxer Nicola Adams has told of her delight having won gold to retain her Olympic flyweight title by beating France's Sarah Ourahmoune in Rio on Saturday.

The victory via a unanimous points decision ensured that Adams became the first Briton to retain an Olympic boxing crown since middleweight Harry Mallin in 1924.

"The gold rush continues," said Adams, according to BBC Sport. "I can't believe it I am now officially our most accomplished amateur boxer ever and it is such an amazing feeling.

"It takes a lot to win an Olympic medal and I would just like to thank everybody."

The 33-year-old's gold represents Team GB's first in the boxing category at this year's event in Brazil.
