Team GB's Sandy Ryan misses out on final

Great Britian's Sandy Ryan secures a bronze medal in the women's light welterweight division after losing her semi-final to Russia's Anastasiia Beliakova.

Team GB's Sandy Ryan has had to settle for a bronze medal in the women's light welterweight division after losing her semi-final at the European Games in Baku this morning.

The 21-year-old made a good start to her bout against Russia's Anastasiia Beliakova, winning the opening round, but her opponent picked up the remaining three.

Beliakova secured a unanimous points decision, winning 39-37 on all three judges' scorecards to guarantee herself at least the silver medal.

The 22-year-old will face Italy's Valentina Alberti for the gold medal tomorrow.
