Great Britain's Savannah Marshall suffers early Baku 2015 exit

European champion Nouchka Fontijn remains on course to claim further success at Baku 2015 after beating Great Britain's Savannah Marshall to book a quarter-final spot.

Great Britain's Savannah Marshall has suffered defeat against Nouchka Fontijn at the round-of-16 stage in the European Games.

The 24-year-old women's middleweight failed to match the earlier success of teammate Nicola Adams, who progressed through comfortably in the flyweight category.

European champion Fontijn, who is representing the Netherlands in Baku, claimed victory on points by outscoring her opponent in all three rounds to set up a meeting with the Ukraine's Kateryna Shambir.

Marshall claimed gold at the 2014 Commonwealth Games in Glasgow, while also winning Britain's first ever women's boxing world title.
