Nicola Adams pleased to restore morale

Sports Mole speaks to Team GB boxer Nicola Adams following her quarter-final victory at the 2015 European Games.

Nicola Adams is 'hopeful' that her quarter-final victory over Bulgarian Stoyka Petrova at the 2015 European Games will help "boost morale" in the Team GB camp.

On Sunday, both Anthony Fowler and Sam Maxwell were eliminated in controversial circumstances, while Muhammad Ali's bout was also stopped on Saturday following a cut, which stemmed from a clash of heads.

Adams, however, is hoping that her victory will inspire Joe Joyce and Qais Ashfaq to win their respective bouts on Monday evening in Baku.

"It was really important. I think it is going to boost morale a lot for the next couple of guys this evening. I am hoping that they will be in good spirits after seeing that I got the win," Adams told Sports Mole.

Adams will now take a least a bronze medal from the first European Games.
