Interview: Harvey Horn reveals disappointment

Sports Mole speaks to Team GB boxer Harvey Horn following his elimination in the last-16 stage of the 2015 European Games on Friday.

Team GB boxer Harvey Horn told Sports Mole that he was "absolutely gutted" after exiting the 2015 European Games at the last-16 stage on Friday.

Horn, 19, impressed in Baku but was beaten by experienced Russian Bator Sagaluev, and the Brit was quick to praise his "world-class" opponent.

The light flyweight, however, has insisted that he will take a lot from the experience as a whole.

What is your overriding feeling Harvey? Pure disappointment?

"More than disappointment, I am absolutely gutted. What can you do? I boxed my best on the day, but I came up against a world-class Russian. It was a tough draw and I knew that I was up against it, but I know that if I get him again then it is game over."

Sagaluev seemed to keep himself very low during the fight. Just how much of a problem was that?

"My gameplan was to use my strengths, which is obviously my height and my reach, but obviously he's been around for a while and he's used his height to his advantage. He just happened to do it better on the day and got the decision."

Can you take a lot from the experience as a whole though?

"Yeah course. To be honest I think it is more of a pride thing. I came here to win because I am a winner and I believe that I am capable of winning these competitions. Like I said, watch out and next year it will be a different story."
