Elena Savelyeva has claimed women's bantamweight gold for Russian Federation by defeating Marzia Davide in Baku.

The 31-year-old, who beat Ireland's Michaela Walsh on her way to this afternoon's European Games final, came out on top at Crystal Hall thanks to a unanimous points decision.

Savelyeva was outscored in the opening round, but she soon bounced back to take gold at the expense of her Italian opponent.

Elsewhere, Anna Alimardanova of Azerbaijan kept home supporters happy as she claimed a podium finish, while Germany's Azize Nimani also settled for bronze.

Russia now have 126 medals to their name at the inaugural Games, 60 of which are gold.
