Callum Smith secures knockout victory over Rafael Sosa Pintos

Callum Smith takes just three rounds to land a knockout blow on Uruguayan Rafael Sosa Pintos and set up a meeting with Nikola Sjekloca.

Callum Smith has set up a WBC eliminator meeting with former world title challenger Nikola Sjekloca by beating Rafael Sosa Pintos in three rounds.

The 24-year-old, who was competing in his 14th career fight in Leeds this evening, landed a strong right hand on his Uruguayan opponent to record his 11th knockout win.

Pintos was caught on a couple of occasions by Smith in the second round, but temporarily recovered to extend the fight.

Referee Howard Foster was left with no choice but to end the bout in the third when Pintos was sent to the canvas once more, however, waving the fight off.

Smith will now face Sjekloca in Liverpool on November 22.
