The Welshman delivered the best performance of his career and won with scores of 79-73, 79-73 and 80-72.
Selby connected with a flurry of punches in the first round and evaded a number of Grabovich's attacks in the second.
He continued to connect throughout the fight, which was stopped by the doctor in the eighth round for a cut above Grabovich's right eye.
