Michael Conlan has "no problems" with head

Northern Ireland boxer Michael Conlan has no concerns with a head wound that he suffered in the early stages of the Commonwealth Games.

Northern Ireland boxer Michael Conlan has insisted that he is not concerned by a cut that he suffered in his first bout of the 2014 Commonwealth Games.

Conlan suffered a gash to his head in his opening bout against Mathew Martin last week, but showed no signs of worry as he dispatched Shiva Thapa in the last-16 stage on Monday.

"No problems at all. Only a wee cut on the head. It didn't bother me at all, I have had worse cuts shaving," Conlan told Sports Mole.

Conlan is among the favourites to claim gold in his weight category this summer.
