Junior Witter vows to knock Frankie Gavin out in four

Junior Witter is not worried about his upcoming bout with Frankie Gavin and vows to knock the younger man out within four rounds.

Former welterweight world champion Junior Witter has claimed he will knock out Frankie Gavin within four rounds when the two face each other next week.

Witter, who beat Colin Lynes to win the British title in May, is a veteran of the sport and thinks Gavin has it all to prove.

Gavin is 11 years younger than Witter, and despite early promise as an amateur, the 27-year-old has yet to make himself a household name in the professional ranks.

"I've got the experience and know-how. I've been there, seen it and done it," Witter told World Boxing News. "What has Frankie Gavin done so far?

"I've been in the ring with everyone from Naseem Hamed, Johnny Nelson and Ryan Rhodes to Kell Brook and Kid Galahad. A 13-fight novice doesn't worry me.

"There is nothing in Gavin's armoury that bothers me, his punches, skills, nothing. Everything he does I'll have an answer for and I will take him out by the fourth round."

The fight for the British title will take place on Thursday evening at the York Hall in Bethnal Green, London.
