Andre Ward has been impressed with Amir Khan since the Bolton fighter teamed up with Virgil Hunter.

World super-middleweight champion Andre Ward believes that Amir Khan will become a better fighter as he continues working with Virgil Hunter.

Khan joined Ward in Hunter's camp after splitting with Freddie Roach on the back of two consecutive losses.

After spending time in the same gym, Ward reveals that he has been impressed with Khan.

"I think Amir is one of the best offensive fighters in the game," Ward told FightHype. "If he keeps getting a concept of defence, I think he's going to be really hard to beat.

"I've been around maybe two or three sessions and from what I see, Amir is working really hard and putting in the time."

Ward, who is rumoured to be negotiating a fight with Kelly Pavlik in January, insisted that while he will be the number one fighter in the camp, both fighters will get equal time.

He continued: "The bottom line is, I'm the number one fighter in the stable.

"Virg runs a tight ship. You have a problem where guys maybe train at the same time, but that's not going to be the case here."

Khan will return to the ring when he faces Carlos Molina on December 15.
