Vitali Klitschko surprised by Wladimir Klitschko defeat to Tyson Fury

Vitali Klitschko believes that his brother Wladimir Klitschko failed to display his strengths in his world heavyweight title fight defeat to Tyson Fury.

Vitali Klitschko has confessed that he was stunned to see his brother Wladimir Klitschko lose to Tyson Fury in his world heavyweight title bout.

The 39-year-old was defeated by Fury on a unanimous points decision in Dusseldorf as the Mancunian outboxed the Ukrainian to clinch the WBA Super, WBO and IBF world heavyweight titles.

Vitali believes that his brother failed to display his strengths against the 27-year-old, resulting in his loss, but has backed Wladimir to regain his titles in the rematch next year.

Vitali is quoted as saying by BBC Sport: "I know how good Wladimir is and Wladimir did not show how good he is. I know his strengths but I couldn't see any of it.

"Maybe it was just a bad night and I'm quite sure Wladimir will take the rematch chance and show the world who the real Wladimir Klitschko is."

Fury ended Klitschko's nine-year reign as world heavyweight champion.
