WBO president Paco Valcarcel has revealed on Twitter that British middleweight Billy Joe Saunders could face Matt Korobov for the WBO title in November.
Saunders had initially been in line to take on Korobov for the vacant belt before WBO light-middleweight champion Demetrius Andrade announced plans to move up a weight to face Korobov later in the year.
However, the American has opted to scrap plans to move into the 160lbs mix, and Valcarcel has tweeted that the bout between Saunders and Korobov could be scheduled for London's ExCel Arena on November 22.
It had appeared that Saunders, the European champion, would be involved in a huge domestic showdown with Chris Eubank Jr before the challenger failed to sign a contract to confirm the fight.
