Floyd Mayweather Jnr has promised to "give the fans what they want" when he fights Miguel Cotto in Las Vegas on May 5.
The 35-year-old takes on the Puerto Rican at the MGM Grand hoping to improve his unbeaten 42-fight record.
Speaking during the press conference to officially announce the fight, Mayweather also took a swipe at pound-for-pound rival Manny Pacquiao.
"I will give the fans what they want to see," said Mayweather. "We will fight toe-to-toe.
"I'm not worried if fans root for Miguel Cotto. If God is on your side, you will always rise. It takes hard word, dedication, prayers, belief and a good team.
"One man has to rise to the occasion and that will be me. Floyd Mayweather is not a cheater like Antonio Margarito and Manny Pacquiao. Hard work, hard work, hard work."
Mayweather defeated Victor Ortiz with a fourth-round knockout in his last contest in September.
