Floyd Mayweather Jnr suggests that he will end his boxing career early after struggling to find challenging opponents.

Floyd Mayweather Jnr has hinted that he may give up boxing earlier than originally planned.

The American WBC welterweight champion, who now has an unbeaten record of 43 after unanimously defeating Miguel Cotto on Saturday, believes that he is running out of suitable opponents.

"There really isn't anybody out there for me to fight," Mayweather told boxingscene.com. "So I really don't know where my career is going to go from here.

"There is nothing [left] but the young pups, the strong young pups coming up. And they are probably going to try to build a young guy [for a fight with me].

"I've been feeling like [I wanted to retire] before this fight. Like I said before, if it is my last my fight at least I gave the fans [what they wanted]."

The 35-year-old, who begins a 90-day prison sentence for assault on June 1, recently claimed that he would wait two years before hanging up his gloves.
