Floyd Mayweather Jnr has lavished praise on Saul Alvarez following his majority points decision victory over the Mexican in Las Vegas in the early hours of Sunday morning.
The unbeaten Mayweather extended his record to 45-0-0 with the win against the 23-year-old, but has tipped the Mexican to bounce back after his first professional defeat.
"'Canelo' is a young, strong champion and I take my hat off to him and the country of Mexico," Mayweather told reporters after the fight.
"He is a great champion with a great heart, a young champion. He is a strong competitor and he will be back. He never gave me nothing I haven't felt before in my time in boxing.
"I've been here 17 years and I'm still going strong. I want to thank my Dad, he said I was tight [in the earlier rounds] and he was right, but it's cool. I got the job done."
Elsewhere on the card, Danny Garcia inflicted defeat on big-hitting Lucas Matthysse.
