Amir Khan may face five months out after fracturing his hands against Carlos Molina.

Amir Khan could be faced with a lengthy absence from the ring after fracturing his hands in Saturday's win over Carlos Molina.

The 26-year-old bounced back from successive defeats in style with a comprehensive win over the unbeaten Mexican.

It may have come at a cost though, with the Daily Mail reporting that the Bolton fighter could be out of action for up to five months.

That would ruin his plans to fight again in the Spring, before a summer rematch with Danny Garcia, who stopped Khan in July.

Khan's former trainer Freddie Roach had said before the fight that the former WBA champion was reluctant to throw his right hand due to a long-standing wrist problem.

Khan will visit hospital today to determine the exact damage to his hands and how long he could be out for.
