Amir Khan: 'I need to fight Floyd Mayweather Jr'

Amir Khan claims that his career will be "unfulfilled" if he doesn't get to fight Floyd Mayweather Jr.

Amir Khan has claimed that his career will feel "unfulfilled" if he doesn't fight Floyd Mayweather Jr.

The Bolton-born fighter was in discussions to collide with the unbeaten Mayweather last year, before talks broke down and the American opted to meet Marcos Maidana instead.

Khan, who beat Luis Collazo in Las Vegas on Sunday morning, has talked up a potential clash with 'Money' after his latest victory.

The Mirror quotes the 27-year-old as saying: "I'd feel unfulfilled if I never fought Mayweather. As a boxer, I want to fight the best and he is the best.

"So far, I've been able to fight everyone I've wanted to fight and I want to fight Mayweather. Now people know after Saturday that at 147, a fight against Mayweather would be amazing."

Meanwhile, Mayweather extended his record to 46-0 with a victory against Maidana on the same card.
