British boxer Amir Khan wants his next fight to take place in the UK.

Amir Khan has said that he wants his next fight to be on British soil.

The Bolton boxer has not fought in the UK since April 2011, when he defeated Paul McCloskey in Manchester.

The 26-year-old told Sky Sports News: "I would love for the fight to be in England, so I'm working with Golden Boy in America to try and get it here.

"It's been a long time since I fought in the UK and I love fighting in the UK. I've got a loyal fanbase over here, fans who have been watching me seen since the [2004] Olympics and fans who have watched me before that.

"So I want to come back and put a great show on for the fans and show that I am a world-class fighter."

Khan is targeting a return to the ring in April, having been linked to bouts with Victor Ortiz, Josesito Lopez and Vyacheslav Senchenko.
