Kevin Johnson vows to knock out Anthony Joshua

Kevin Johnson insists that he has "got the hunger back" ahead of his fight with Anthony Joshua next month.

American heavyweight Kevin Johnson is "confident" that he will knock out Anthony Joshua in their showdown next month.

The experienced boxer comes up against home favourite Joshua at London's O2 Arena on May 30, looking to cause a major upset against an opponent who has a perfect KO record of his own.

Joshua has yet to taste defeat in his 11 professional bouts, but Johnson insists that run will come to an end in a month's time.

"I've trained for so long for this fight and I have got the hunger back," he is quoted as saying by Sky Sports News. "Anthony is so big that the KO is going to look so good.

"He is very confident with the start he has made, but I am confident I will knock him out. He still has something missing and I hope that no-one fixes it before May 30 because that's why I am going to knock him out.

"When I was 3-0 I boxed another Olympian and really beat him, because all these Olympians that turn over have one thing missing – I saw it with him and I see it with Joshua."

Joshua will face Raphael Zumbano Love in Birmingham on May 9.
