George Groves reveals strategy to beat Carl Froch

British super-middleweight George Groves insists that he will meet Carl Froch in the centre of the ring when the bell goes at the start of their world title clash in Manchester on Saturday night.

World super-middleweight challenger George Groves has revealed a strategy that he has insisted he will use against IBF and WBA champion Carl Froch on Saturday night.

The two Brits were attending the pre-fight press conference ahead of the highly anticipated showdown in Manchester, and Groves took his opportunity to tell his opponent how he plans to beat him at the Phones4U Arena.

The 25-year-old told reporters: "I think Carl thinks that I'm going to get in there and run from him, but he's wrong.

"I'm going to come out in round one and meet you in the centre of the ring. I'm going to win the jab exchanges and hit you with two right hands, just to let you know that whenever I want, I can hit you with a right hand.

"In the second round, I'm going to do the same. I'm going to hit him with more right hands and win more jab exchanges. Third round, I'm going to come out and push him on his back foot. Then after the third round, Carl is going to have to find out what is coming next."

Froch has suffered just two defeats in 33 professional bouts, while Groves is unbeaten in 19 encounters.
