British super-bantamweight Kid Galahad has been suspended from boxing until September 2016 after failing to overturn a two-year drugs ban.
Earlier this year, Galahad tested positive for the banned substance stanzolol, which he claimed had been found in his body after a protein shake was spiked by his brother following a disagreement.
However, his appeal has been thrown out by the UK Anti-Doping Agency, and the Sheffield fighter must remain sidelined until late next year.
UKAD chief executive Nicole Sapstead said: "Kid Galahad is one of the country's leading boxing talents and through his own actions, he has jeopardised his promising career, and his reputation.
"All athletes, at all levels, need to understand the importance of Strict Liability. They are solely responsible for any banned substance that is found in their system, regardless of how it got there or whether there was an intention to cheat or not."
Galahad was unbeaten in 18 bouts, but he has now been credited with one defeat with the failed drugs test coming after his win over Adeilson Dos Santos.
