Carl Frampton to defend IBF world super-bantamweight title against Chris Avalos

Carl Frampton will defend his IBF world super-bantamweight title against Chris Avalos in Belfast next year.

Cyclone Promotions have confirmed that Carl Frampton will defend his IBF world super-bantamweight title against Chris Avalos in Belfast in 2015.

The 27-year-old will fight in his hometown against the mandatory challenger, with the date expected to be during either February or March next year.

Frampton clinched the title back in September when he beat former champion Kiko Martinez on points after 12 rounds.

The Irishman, who has a record of 19 straight victories, will attend a press conference next week to announce the date and venue for the fight.
