Carl Frampton has been pulled out a fight at Wembley Arena this weekend after failing to pass a British Boxing Board of Control medical earlier today.
The unbeaten Northern Irishman was due to defend his IBF Inter-Continental super bantamweight title against Everth Briceno in London this weekend, but has been forced to announce that he is unable to compete.
Frampton used Twitter to inform fans that he will not make his debut under Frank Warren's promotional banner on Saturday night, due to an ear injury that flared up in sparring.
He tweeted: "I'm upset to have to announce that I have been ruled out of my fight on Saturday by the BBBoC. An old ear injury mildly reoccured in a spar.
"A specialist initially informed me I was fit to box. Today the BBBoC ruled me out. Im so so sorry especially to the people who were coming to support me.
"Its been an amazing camp and I'm gutted that I wont be able to showcase my improvements in Wembley."
Warren's Wembley Arena card will be headlined by Dereck Chisora's return to heavyweight action against unbeaten American Malik Scott.
