Tony Bellew: 'Frank Warren is a control freak'

Tony Bellew and Frank Warren exchange words on Twitter in the midst of their legal dispute.

British and Commonwealth light heavyweight champion Tony Bellew has branded former manager Frank Warren a "control freak".

The pair are currently embroiled in a legal dispute following their acrimonious split in May, when Bellew began fighting under the banner of Eddie Hearn at Matchroom Sport on a temporary basis.

Warren claims that he is owed money from his time acting as Bellew's manager and promoter and posted details of the case on Twitter.

The Liverpool fighter has responded to the tweets to defend his name, describing Warren's actions as "childish and immature".

"It has come to my notice that Frank Warren my ex manager and Promoter is publishing letters about my case against him on twitter," he posted.

"If Frank Warren wishes me to publish his financial accounts of his company and how much he owes to people I will happily do so.

"It is sad that a grown man of 60yrs of age has to resort to childish and immature actions.

"It is nice to see a control freak slowly losing control."

Warren has since replied: "Tony Bellew stop whinging, we're just showing the truth, like you should have done in the first place instead of lying about what's gone on!"

Bellew stopped Edison Miranda in the ninth round of their clash at Alexandra Palace on Saturday.
