50 Cent to bring "youth culture" back to boxing

Rapper 50 Cent says he plans to bring "youth culture" back to boxing.

Rapper 50 Cent has said that his first steps as a boxing promoter will be to bring "youth culture" back to the sport.

The hip hop star, who is fully licensed to promote fights, believes that he can bring some theatrical touches to the sport akin to professional wrestling.

"I think there is a possibility of bringing some youth culture and theatrics that you see in WWE and the UFC so that the arena isn't half empty until most of the show is over," said the musician, real name Curtis Jackson.

"The boxing demographic is 30-years-old and up. For the UFC it is 15-34. This experience [of becoming a promoter] has been a learning one and it is exciting for me."

The 37-year-old was on hand at the MGM Grand in Las Vegas to witness Juan Manuel Marquez knock out out Manny Pacquiao in the sixth round of their clash in the early hours of Sunday morning.
