Joe Joyce: "It felt great"

Team England boxer Joe Joyce says that "it felt great" to book his spot in the semi-finals of the Commonwealth Games.

Team England boxer Joe Joyce has revealed his delight after booking his spot in the semi-finals of the Commonwealth Games.

Super-heavyweight Joyce, who beat Scotland's Ross Henderson on points in Glasgow, is now guaranteed a medal at the Games.

"It felt great. That is one down, two more to go. I really enjoyed it, I enjoy boxing and especially winning," Joyce told reporters following the fight.

All three judges scored each of the three rounds 10-9 despite Joyce's dominance, and the Englishman has admitted that he was surprised by the score.

"Maybe it could have been 10-8, but that is how it goes."

Joyce will fight Mike Sekabembe in the semi-finals on Friday.
