Charlie Edwards: 'I thought I had won'

Team England boxer Charlie Edwards believes that he deserved to beat Scotland's Reece McFadden in their Flyweight Commonwealth Games meeting.

Team England boxer Charlie Edwards has admitted that he thought he had beaten Scotland's Reece McFadden in their Flyweight clash at the Commonwealth Games.

All three judges handed McFadden the bout, but Edwards questioned the decision.

"I thought I had won, but that is the way it goes. That is boxing," he told reporters.

"You get that all over the world. Whoever is in their backyard always gets a bit of help. It is what you expect. Now he (McFadden) is the golden boy."

McFadden will fight Oteng Oteng in the quarter-finals.
