The Washington Wizards have reportedly been informed that Nene could miss the rest of this season due to a knee injury.
Nene was forced off the court during the victory over the Cleveland Cavaliers on Sunday night following a collision with Spencer Hawes.
The Brazilian will have an MRI scan on Monday but fears are growing in the Wizards camp that he may have torn a ligament in his left knee, according to the Washington Post.
A source believed to be close to the team has claimed that "it doesn't look good" for the 31-year-old.
Nene has averaged 14.2 points in 49 appearances this season.
