Team GB have been beaten 79-78 in an enthralling match against Spain in their third group game at the Olympics.
Spain showed their quality in the first quarter, taking advantage of the inconsistency of scoring by the British to storm into a 24-15 lead.
However, Team GB showed signs of improvement before half-time to win the second quarter as Joel Freeland and Luol Deng started to become more prominent figures for the hosts.
Spain looked invigorated by the interval and appeared to regain control of the game in the third quarter on their way to building a lead of 13 points heading into the final period.
Team GB were able to force a close finish to the contest though, with the excited crowd in London adding to the tense atmosphere on the court.
A superb final quarter by Great Britain meant that Spain only held a three-point lead in the last minute, but the inability to execute plays when it mattered condemned Team GB to their third loss of the Olympics by just a single point.
