San Antonio Spurs head coach Gregg Popovich has hailed the character of his side for bouncing back from disappointment in 2013 to claim their fifth NBA Championship.
The Spurs secured their first title since 2007 as they overcame the Miami Heat in the Finals, taking the series 4-1 following their 104-87 win at the AT&T Center in game five.
Popovich's side bounced back after losing 4-3 to the Heat in the Finals in 2013, and the 65-year-old was full of admiration for how his players were able to overcome their disappointment to triumph this year.
"I've said many times, a day didn't go by where I didn't think about game six," Popovich told ESPN.
"So I think, just in general, for the group to have the fortitude that they showed to get back to this spot, I think speaks volumes about how they're constituted and what kind of fibre they have."
The Championship win was the fifth of Popovich's 18-year career with the Spurs.
