Danny Granger confirms Phoenix Suns stay

Phoenix Suns small forward Danny Granger opts into the final year of his contract despite still waiting to make his debut for the team.

Danny Granger has opted into the final year of his contract with the Phoenix Suns, despite having not yet featured for the team.

The small forward moved to the team as part of the trade that saw Goran Dragic join the Miami Heat, but was unable to feature in the final weeks of the season because of a knee injury.

Despite this, The AP reports that the 32-year-old will stay with the team for next season, during which he is due to earn $2.17m (£1.36m).

Granger averaged 6.3 points in 30 appearances for the Heat before picking up his injury last season.
