Julius Erving: 'Philadelphia 76ers have seven-year plan'

Philadelphia 76ers legend Julius Erving reveals that the intention is for the franchise to be a contender in three years' time.

NBA legend Julius Erving has revealed that the Philadelphia 76ers have a seven-year plan to rebuild and become competitive.

Josh Harris bought the Sixers in 2011, and hired Sam Hinkie to be the general manager in 2013.

"When they acquired the team in 2012 maybe, I think the talk was about seven years. Seven years," Erving told SiriusXM.

"So, I think it's still on that same timeline."

Erving added that the intention was to become competitive and be a contender as opposed to merely making the playoffs in that timeframe.
