New York Knicks star Carmelo Anthony has praised the impact that rookie coach Derek Fisher has had on the team despite their struggles this season.
The Knicks have fallen to nine straight losses and have lost 19 of their previous 20 games to fall to 5-29 for the season.
However, Anthony believes that it could be far worse for the team if Fisher were not in charge this season.
"I think if it was anybody else in his position, I think this probably would've crumbled already," Anthony told reporters.
"I think he's doing a great job of keeping everybody focused on the task at hand and believing in what we're trying to do."
The 30-year-old has also been dealing with a sore left knee for most of the season and although he is desperate to play, he conceded that he may have to sit out if the pain becomes intolerable.
