Carmelo Anthony concedes knee surgery is inevitable

New York Knicks star Carmelo Anthony reveals that he will likely need surgery on his left knee eventually.

New York Knicks star Carmelo Anthony has revealed that he will likely need surgery to repair his injured left knee.

Anthony has missed the last six games with the problem and he admitted that it has been bothering him since the second game of the current NBA season.

"I'm pretty sure at some point that's going to be my only option," Anthony told reporters.

"But until that time I can't sit out. I feel like if I can go out there and play some more and continue to play, then I'm going to do that. I'm pretty sure there will come a time where I have to make that decision to sit out and take the proper procedure and get what I need to be done."

The 30-year-old is understood to be desperate to feature in the game against the Milwaukee Bucks in London on Thursday night as well as the All-Star Game on February 19 at Madison Square Garden.
