Report: New Orleans Pelicans waiting for Tom Thibodeau

The New Orleans Pelicans are reportedly hoping to appoint Tom Thibodeau as their new coach, if he leaves the Chicago Bulls.

The New Orleans Pelicans are reportedly waiting to see if the Chicago Bulls part company with Tom Thibodeau before making their own coaching appointment.

The Pelicans fired Monty Williams last week, despite taking them to the playoffs this season where they were defeated by the Golden State Warriors in the first round.

Thibodeau's season came to an end this week too, with the Bulls being eliminated by the Cleveland Cavaliers in the Eastern Conference semi-finals.

As a result, the Pelicans will now wait to see if the Bulls fire Thibodeau as they look to make their move for the experienced coach, according to The Times Picayune.

Thibodeau has a close relationship with star center Anthony Davis, with the pair previously working together with Team USA.
