Steve Blake hit a three-point shot with 1.3 seconds left in the game as the Los Angeles Lakers recorded a 99-98 victory over the Houston Rockets at the Toyota Center on Thursday night.
The Lakers dominated for much of the early stages and they went into the half-time break 14 points ahead of the hosts.
James Harden, who scored 35 points and claimed nine rebounds, inspired the Rockets as they fought back in the second half.
Houston's Dwight Howard missed seven late free throws against his former side after Chandler Parsons had given the home side the advantage with a dunk four minutes before the final buzzer.
However, the Lakers managed to stay in the game in the closing stages and Blake's late shot condemned the Rockets to their first home loss of the season.
