The Los Angeles Lakers officially waived veteran point guard Steve Nash on Wednesday to make room on the roster to sign Jabari Brown.
The two-time MVP announced his retirement last week after nearly 19 years in the NBA, although he was plagued by injuries during his time with the Lakers.
Nash played in just 65 out of a potential 246 games through the three years that he was signed with the organisation.
The Lakers traded four Draft picks to the Phoenix Suns to acquire the veteran in 2012, despite the fact that the signs of injury problems had already started.
Meanwhile, Brown was signed after impressing during two 10-day contracts, averaging 9.4 points on 50% shooting in 24.5 minutes per game.
