Los Angeles Lakers star Kobe Bryant has flown out to Germany to undergo the platelet-rich plasma treatment known as Orthokine on his right knee.
The 35-year-old underwent the same therapy on his right knee in 2011, and although he did not speak with Mike D'Antoni prior to his departure, the Lakers coach has no cause for concern.
"I don't think it's a surprise," ESPN quotes D'Antoni as saying. "I think he had it programmed, and just the way it was, he knew he had time because he's not getting on the court yet. So I don't think it's a big deal. There's no concern whatsoever."
Bryant is also currently in the final stages of his recovery from a ruptured Achilles tendon, although it is unclear when he will return to action.
