Mike D'Antoni has said that he expects Jordan Farmar to be effective for the Los Angeles Lakers in the 2013-14 NBA season.
The point guard signed for the team in July, having spent last season with Turkish side Anadolu Efes.
The head coach told the team's website: "I think what he does, you can already see he's going to be effective this year. The biggest thing is his toughness. He shoots the ball really well, he's quick, he's feisty, he's got good court vision, so he's got it all."
Farmar added: "One thing to keep in mind is that we still have a very talented team, with a lot of guys who are established and will be a big part of what we do, so that will dictate the offensive flow. But no doubt I'm excited about running this system.
"The attitude has been great. Everybody is really focused on the same stuff, and competitive. There's been trash talking that carries over to the next day. Everyone is locked in, trying to take advantage of the situation and have fun while doing it."
Farmar began his NBA career with the Lakers in 2006, and has also had spells with the Brooklyn Nets and Maccabi Tel Aviv.
