Newly-crowned NBA MVP Stephen Curry has insisted that he suffered no lasting damage during game four of the Western Conference finals against the Houston Rockets.
The Golden State Warriors were hoping to complete a 4-0 series sweep at Toyota Center, but went down 125-118 and were without their point guard for the equivalent of a whole quarter.
Curry landed on his head when trying to block Trevor Ariza's shot and had to leave the game with what the team called a "head contusion".
He underwent concussion tests, but was soon cleared to return to the match. He couldn't help the Warriors to victory and said in his post-game press conference that it was the scariest fall of his career.
"I felt like I was in the air for a long time and trying to brace yourself," said Curry.
"Once I hit the ground, kind of hearing voices from trainers and people just telling me to take my time and not rush yourself getting up, and want to make sure that I passed all the tests that I needed to do so that I could get back on the floor, and that's what happened."
Curry will be able to start game five back in Oakland on Wednesday night when the Warriors will be aiming to advance to the NBA Finals.
