Dallas Mavericks sign point guard Deron Williams

The Dallas Mavericks sign former Brooklyn Nets point guard Deron Williams on a two-year deal that is thought to be worth in the region of $10m (£6m).

The Dallas Mavericks have announced the signing of point guard Deron Williams.

Williams was recently released by the Brooklyn Nets, but has now found a home back with his native Dallas on a two-year deal that is thought to be worth around $10m (£6m).

The deal comes at a vital time for the Mavs, who were given a shock when DeAndre Jordan decided to back out of a move and re-sign with the Los Angeles Clippers.

Williams averaged 13 points per game for Brooklyn last season.
