David Blatt has insisted that the Cleveland Cavaliers will ask for "no sympathy" after losing Kyrie Irving in game one of the NBA Finals.
The point guard suffered a fractured kneecap in the opening clash with the Golden State Warriors, which will keep him on the sidelines for the next three to four months.
The coach told reporters: "You'd love to see us at full strength, obviously, for the Finals. The situation as it is is what it is, and we're going to come out and play and play to win. Request no quarter and no sympathy. We've got to come out and play and play to win. That's it.
"My take on the injury was that he got kneed in the side of his knee. It was a contact injury, and the result was a fracture of the kneecap."
Cleveland will be attempting to level the series when the sides meet at the Oracle Arena again later today.
