The Chicago Bulls' new head coach Fred Hoiberg has said that he "absolutely loves" the squad of players he has inherited.

The 42-year-old was confirmed as the successor to recently-fired Tom Thibodeau at a news conference yesterday.

Thibodeau was dismissed after Chicago's exit from the NBA playoffs last month in the Conference semi-finals at the hands of the Cleveland Cavaliers.

Hoiberg, who joins the Bulls from Iowa State University, feels that the "versatility" of the team is a huge plus.

"I love this roster, I absolutely love this roster," ESPN quotes him as saying. "I love the versatility of the players, the different lineups that we're going to be able to play.

"You can play small, you can play big, you've got lineups that I really think you can get out and play with pace. You've got a great group of veteran players that know how to play."

Hoiberg was an NBA player for 10 years between 1995 and 2005 and spent four seasons in Chicago as a Bull between 1999 and 2003.
